This set of North America territory flags is a Montessori geography printable covering the 20 territories and areas of North America, from Greenland and Bermuda to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Netherlands. What Is Included

The 20 capital city labels extend the cards once children know the flags. Each label carries one capital, from Nuuk and Hamilton to Willemstad and Charlotte Amalie, and blank labels are included for extension work. Aruba and Sint Eustatius share a capital name, Oranjestad, which makes a useful discussion point.

The 21 mini flags are sized for Montessori pin flags, with blank frames on the same sheet. Children cut them out, attach them to map pins or toothpicks, and place each one on a North America pin map. Many of these territories are small islands, so pinning them helps children find places that are easy to miss on a map.

The 3 region cards show how the 20 territories divide into two regions: 3 in Northern America and 17 in the Caribbean. The 7 illustrated explanation cards, with a cover card, can be used as cards or bound as a short booklet. They explain what a territory is, how European colonisation shaped the region, the four main ways territories connect to a larger country, and why Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba are sometimes counted as one entry. The final cards discuss why these connections continue and why the territories matter, which gives older children the context behind the flags.

Three pages of worksheets reinforce the lesson. The circle-and-write worksheet asks children to choose the correct name for each of 10 flags from two options and write it on the line. The two colouring worksheets show 12 flag outlines with colour dots beside each one; the dots show which colours the flag uses but not their order.

The 15 A4 blackline colouring sheets give each flag a full landscape page with its name below. They cover every territory in the set except Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Sint Maarten. The large format suits younger children developing pencil control, and older children can colour from memory before checking against the picture cards.
